As of December 2017, nearly 98% of all employer businesses in Canada were small businesses (at least one employee) and over half of small business owners in the United States operate in order to be their own boss. Establishing a business can be fulfilling for reasons other than being your own boss. Maybe starting a business fulfils pursuing a passion or can create a sense of security, knowing you've created something that can be passed on to the next generation. Thankfully, SM Legal's founding lawyer, Samuel Michaels, knows about the challenges and obstacles a small business faces. After establishing the legal practice as a sole-proprietor, Samuel has helped incorporate and navigate the legal responsibilities for many small businesses. Sometimes the problems that arise could be solved more quickly and with less cost incurred if the proper legal documents are in place such as shareholders agreements, employment contracts and terms of service. Please join us April 8th, 2021 @ 5:00pm for an in-depth look at the requirements for starting a business as well as the best practices to sustain it successfully.
Please email contact@smlegal.ca with subject line "TPL Webcast - Apr" if you have questions you'd like Samuel to address during the presentation or to receive a link to the stream (register).
